At Desert Grace, we believe it is never too early to start a journey toward God. We have an active children’s ministry focused on building a relationship with God
On Sundays, our Sunday school hour covers a curriculum that speaks to what God is doing around the world to inspire and connect the children to their faith. The children’s worship service is filled with activities to help keep their attention while teaching them about Christ. We'd love to know you're on your way! Let us know by registering your child below.
KIDS MINUTE
Once a month, the children participate in our services, including a song and a quick "childrens church" style lesson given to the whole congregation!
MEET OUR CHILDREN'S PASTOR
VICKI BARRIENTOS
I am a wife, a mother to four children (3 grown) and I run on prayer and coffee or “go juice” as we call it in my house. With God and a Flat White (my favorite coffee drink) nothing is impossible! While I may be silly, obnoxious, and usually making some kind of craft mess as the Children Pastor; I am also living proof that God not only can heal our brokenness He will turn that brokenness into a passion, a calling.
Due to a rough childhood and lack of a foundation for what little faith I had, I was a troubled teen and young adult. This trouble only brought more heart ache and much regret. But we serve a merciful God, who not only never let me go, but turned my heart ache and regret into my heart’s desire. A desire for every child to be so wrapped up in their love for God and to have a foundation for their child like faith that when/if the ugliness of this fallen words affects them, they would not turn from God but run to Him.
Since accepting Gods saving Grace, one of my favorite scripture is 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!” However, the children might tell you it is my favorite verse because it is also the verse I use when a child needs a moment alone with Jesus before they can join the rest of the class. But aren’t there times when we all need that moment alone with Christ to become that new creation before we join the rest of the world?
